Training and Assessment
Course Requirements and Prerequisites
Time and Equipment
Two Days Course
Quality Mask, Snorkel, Fins
Full length, Wetsuit preferability 3mm+, Booties, Wetsuit hood
Towel
Dive Flag (can be borrowed for the day)
Waterproof Whistle
Emergency communication device. (Phone/In Reach/PLB)
Emergency flotation device (Provided on the day)
Pre-Course Qualifications
Current:
HLTAID009 Provide CPR
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
An Australian Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Evidence of currency will need to be provided to your trainer.
If you do not have these qualifications you can join a Beyond Wilderness First Aid Course either before or after the Snorkel Instructors course to complete your training
Physical Requirements
The ability to:
Equalise your ears
Dive to a depth of 6m on a single breath.
Tread water with no flotation aid for 15minutes
Swim 800m non-stop using a mask, fins and snorkel in 15 minutes or less
Swim 25m Horizontally underwater on a single breath, in water too deep to stand up in.

PADI Snorkel Guide - Practical Workshop 2
Planning and conduct (Excursion 1 of 3) of a PADI Snorkel Experience.
Day 2
PADI Snorkel Guide - Practical Workshop 2
Planning and conduct of a PADI Snorkel Experience (three excursions)
Prepare equipment and participants
Brief participants and demonstrate snorkelling techniques
Lead and supervise snorkelling activities (including rescue scenarios)
PADI Snorkel Guide - Practical Workshop 3
Conducting a PADI Snorkel Experience debriefing and post-experience activities
